The Allahabad High Court has observed that the power to block credit under Rule 86A is a drastic and far reaching power and should therefore be used sparingly.
Such blocking should be done only upon subjective weighty grounds and reasons.
Such blocking should neither harass the assessee or have an irreversible detrimental effect on the business.
