The present Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) is for a term from 2015-2020. The government of India proposes to come out with a new FTP 2020-25 with effect from 1st April 2020.
Combined with this is the World Trade Organization (WTO) ruling that various export incentive schemes under India FTP 2015-20 are invalid.
In order to understand the new FTP, especially from the perspective of various foreign trade benefits available to exporters, we propose to initiate a #FTPUpdate series, in order to understand the present policy as also the way ahead for Indian importers/ exporters.
